Thanksgiving Gorgonzola Hazelnut Green Beans

A staple on our Thanksgiving table, these green beans are a perfect compliment to a rich turkey dinner.


  • 2 lb green beans, trimmed

  • 1 1/2 T butter

  • 1/2 cup chopped hazelnuts

  • 1/2 cup crumbled Gogonzola cheese

  • salt and fresh ground pepper


  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.  Add the green beans, return to a boil and cook 3-4 minutes; until bright green and crisp.  Drain well and set aside.

  • Return the pot to medium-high.  Add the butter and hazeluts and stir until the nuts are lightly toasted and fragrant, 2-3 minutes.  Add the green beans and stir until heated through.

  • Remove the pan from the heat and add the cheese; toss until melted.

  • Season to taste with salt and pepper.
